Most advanced biological and chemical sensing Interface IC

Most advanced biological and chemical sensing Interface IC:                                         Analog Devices has introduced a sensor interface IC that will enable the next generation of intelligent electrochemical sensors.                                        The device incorporates potentiostat and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) functionality on a single chip, the ADuCM355 precision analogue microcontroller with bio-sensor and chemical sensor interface is intended for applications such as industrial gas sensing, instrumentation, vital signs monitoring and disease management.                                       According to ADI, it features the industry’s most advanced sensor diagnostics, best-in-class low noise and low power performance, and smallest form factor.                                      The ADuCM355 is based on the ARM Cortex M3 processor. Additional features include: voltage, current and impedance measurement; dual ultra-low po

Introduction to DC to DC Converter

Buck Boost Converter                                                                                                    The  buck boost converter is a DC to DC converter . The output voltage of the DC to DC converter is less than or greater than the input voltage.                                                   The output voltage of the magnitude depends on the duty cycle. These converters are also known as the step up and step down transformers and these names are coming from the analogous  step up and step down transformer .                                                   The input voltages are step up/down to some level of more than or less than the input voltage. By using the low conversion energy, the input power is equal to the output power. Quantization : Digital Communication!!

What is Quantization??                                                                                       Quantization , in mathematics and  digital signal processing , is the process of mapping input values from a large set (often a continuous set) to output values in a (countable) smaller set.                                                  A device or  algorithmic function  that performs quantization is called a  quantizer . Quantization Noise?                                                      Quantization noise  is a model of  quantization  error introduced by  quantization  in the analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) in telecommunication systems and signal processing. It is a rounding error between the analog input voltage to the ADC and the output digitized value. Introduction To wireless Communication:Wi-Fi

What is Wi-Fi??                                   WiFi stands for Wireless Fidelity and is the same thing as saying WLAN which stands for "Wireless Local Area Network."                                   A   facility allowing computers, smartphones, or other devices to connect to the Internet or communicate with one another wirelessly within a particular area. How Wi-Fi Works??                                WiFi works off of the same principal as other wireless devices - it uses radio frequencies to send signals between devices.                              The radio frequencies are completely different say from walky talkies, car radios, cell phones, and weather radios.                              For example your car stereo receives frequencies in Kilohertz and Megahertz range (AM and FM stations), and WiFi transmits and receives data in the Gigahertz range. Hertz (Hz) is simply a unit of frequency. Let's say you're standing on a

Introduction to Quartz Clock:How Digital Watch Works!!

Quartz Clock or Digital Watch:                                                  Inside a quartz clock or watch, the battery sends electricity to the quartz crystal through an  electronic  circuit.                                                                         The quartz crystal oscillates (vibrates back and forth) at a precise frequency: exactly 32768 times each second. The circuit counts the number of vibrations and uses them to generate regular electric pulses, one per second.                                                                                         These pulses can either power an  LCD display (showing the time numerically) or they can drive a small  electric motor  (a tiny  stepping motor , in fact), turning gear wheels that spin the clock's second, minute, and hour hands. Difference Between Microcontrollers and Microprocessors

Difference Between Microprocessor and Microcontroller:                                                                                 Microprocessor is an IC which has only the CPU inside them. These microprocessors don’t have RAM, ROM, and other peripheral on the chip. A system designer has to add them externally to make them functional.                                             Microcontroller has a CPU, in addition with a fixed amount of RAM, ROM and other peripherals all embedded on a single chip. At times it is also termed as a mini computer or a computer on a single chip.  Some manufacturers are ATMEL, Microchip, TI, Freescale, Philips, Motorola etc.                                              Microcontrollers are designed to perform specific tasks                                             Microprocessor find applications where tasks are unspecific like developing software, games, websites, photo editing, creating documents etc.

Signals Basics

Signals           A  gesture, action, or sound that is used to convey information or instructions, typically by prearrangement between the parties concerned. What is Amplitude???                  T he maximum difference of an alternating electric current or potential from the average value. What is Frequancy???           Frequency is the number of occurrences of a repeating event per unit of time .                T he rate per second of a vibration constituting a wave, either in a material (as in sound waves), or in an electromagnetic field (as in radio waves and light).                                                                                                                                                  By  Don Kabilesh.
